Taxes: Time For Reform...

According to a recent article put out by the Tax Foundation, there is "a shrinking class of people who are bearing the lion's share of the [tax] burden."

It is amazing how so many people can favor the current system of taxation in this country. There is currently a group of 42.5 million people who don't contribute to the revenues that fuel the federal government, yet they nearly all receive a part of that revenue in the form of welfare, Social Security, and Medicare discounts.

Karl Marx wrote over a century and a half ago that the number two goal of a true communist society is the establishment of "a heavy progressive or graduated income tax." Number three is the "abolition of all rights of inheritance." This means that one-fifth of the communist agenda involves the creation of a tax system that will, as is being witnessed in America today, take money from the rich and give it to the "needy."

With the ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment on Feburary 3, 1913, the journey toward a communist society began. Throughout the last 92-plus years, we've reformed and rewritten the code, created organizations tasked with handling the bureaucratic mess, and spawned industries and countless professions whose jobs are to decipher the code so hard-working citizens don't get arrested for the simple mistake of not knowing how to pay their taxes.

It is time for some serious reforming of the tax code in this country, and not the kind that has been going on for decades now with raises and cuts in the income tax and numerous other versions of taxes that've been developed over the years. It is time for the IRS as an organization to be taken to "that place in the government guano heap it has so richly earned," (FairTax Book, XIV).

Many people believe in the Flat Tax, and then there are others who want the Fair Tax. Whichever idea is implemented will shake the nation's capitol to its core. The ground will once again quake with the sounds of revolution. However this time the revolution won't involve cannon fire and open-field battle against the British. This revolution will be between commoners and bureaucrats, taxpayers and tax collectors. It will take this nation into a generation of unmatched prosperity with green pastures and blue skies ahead for generations to come.
